On July 1, locals celebrate Territory Day, a large celebration with fireworks and music at Mindil Beach. Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are very popular with visitors who come to town for a few days or weeks and want to buy souvenirs, clothes or exotic foods. The Darwin Festival is the most visited event of the year including the NT Indigenous Music Awards and other music, dance, theater, visual art achievements of the region. The three-day Royal Darwin Show is held in July as an agriculture and livestock exhibition with horse events, side shows, and other exciting activities.
