Booking a car

How can I book a car?

In order to book a car, follow the form on the home page: select the location, choose a car, and place an order.

What does the rental price include when booking via website?

Rental price includes:

  • Damage and theft insurance with a deductible,
  • unlimited mileage (depending on the country and vehicle type),
  • road toll,
  • airport fee,
  • local tax.

What’s a Deductible?

This is the maximum customer cash limit in the insurance case.

Whether insurance with a deductible enough for receiving a car?

Yes, enough.

Is additional insurance needed?

No, the additional insurance shall be taken out at the client’s discretion.

Why do you need additional insurance?

Additional insurance reduces the deductible up to a certain minimum or completely covers it.

What is a road toll?

The county fee for using highways and cars. As a rule, when booking in Russia this fee is included in the rental price.

At what age can I rent a car?

Most countries set 21 as the minimum age for car rental. A driver less than 25 years old shall pay an additional fee.

What should be the driving experience?

Driving experience should be not less than 12 months (differs by country).

Which documents should be provided for renting a car?

Driver should have the following:

  • valid national and international driving licenses,
  • credit card (for renting some luxury cars two credit cards are needed),
  • booking confirmation,
  • voucher (if the payment was made in Russia),
  • confirmation of discount (if you used your own discount code, you need to provide it upon receiving a car: discount coupon, etc.),
  • valid foreign passport

Is an international driving license needed for receiving and driving a car?

Not all countries require an international driving license, but we strongly recommend that you take it with you to avoid conflicts with the Scantri employees, police and insurance company (especially if have a new version of driving license: without inscription in French PERMIS DE CONDUIRE)

Is it necessary to have a deposit card?

Should the card have a name of the person renting a car (driver)?

No, it is not necessary. If the deposit card is issued to another person, the presence of this person is required. The person must meet the renting requirements and be in possession of a driver’s license. The card holder may be mentioned as an additional driver, but in this case an additional fee will be applied.

Which cars are referred to the “high class” vehicles?

Cars like Mercedes C and E class, BMW 3 and 4 series, Audi A4 and A6 are referred to the “high class” vehicles as well as some other similar and higher level vehicles.

Does the company guarantee a specific car brand and model?

No, it doesn’t. Economrent company guarantees a specific car group. The group is formed of different brands and models, similar in size, type of transmission, luggage capacity and interior volume.

Which cars are available in the Booking BV’s car fleet?

A car fleet varies depending on the country of renting.

Cancellation or changing of booking

How can I change my order?

When ordering, there is a “Change search settings” function on the second and third steps. Please note that any booking change can lead to changes in price.

Can I make changes to a booking after the payment?

No, it is impossible to change the paid bookings.

Can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your order within 48 hours after booking; after this period, you will be required to pay the administrative fee. Cancellation is not allowed after specifying the date and time of receiving a car.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking on the voucher page you will receive via email.

Deposit

Whether deposit is put on hold upon receiving a car?

Yes, the deposit will be put on hold on the day of beginning of the rent after signing the contract.

What is the term for putting a deposit on hold and when it unlocks?

Booking BV releases your funds within 2-3 days after the return of the car. Banks release your funds within 30 calendar days.

What are the causes of deduction (incomplete repayment)?

The incomplete repayment occurs in following cases:

  • use of additional services,
  • use of additional equipment,
  • return of the car later than specified in the agreement,
  • return of damaged car,
  • return of the car with an empty tank

Insurance

Whether insurance is included in the car rental price and what does it cover?

“The car rental price includes the damage and theft insurance with a deductible (deductible varies by countries and groups).”

What is not covered by the full insurance and basic insurance with a deductible?

Insurance does not cover:

  • damage or theft of the windscreen wipers, CD player, antenna, tires, wheels, car registration number plates, keys, mirrors, vehicle underbody;
  • damage of glass, roof and interior paneling;
  • loss of car documents;
  • damage caused by the influence of alcohol and drug intoxication;
  • damage caused by driving off-road;
  • damage caused during transportation by sea or river transport;
  • theft or damage to the driver’s personal belongings left in the car.

In some countries, tire and glass insurance is also available. Ask about the possibility of purchasing this service and its cost at the rental station.

Whether insurance with a deductible is enough to get a car?

Yes, enough.

Which additional services and options can I order?

You can order the following services and options:

  • additional driver,
  • receiving and return of a car in a hotel,

Can I order additional services in advance?

Yes, you can order additional services in advance, but not earlier than 72 hours before renting.

What is the cost of additional services?

Cost of additional services varies depending on the service, country and category.

How can I order additional services?

Additional services can be ordered during booking on our website.

Booking payment

How can I pay for a booked car?

You can pay by bank transfer. Visa, Master Card and Maestro are accepted for payment.

If I book via the website, how can I make a payment?

When booking via website you can make payments by bank transfer.

Receiving a booked car

What documents will I receive upon getting a car?

When receiving a car, you will be provided with a rental agreement.

What is a rental agreement?

Rental agreement is a document containing all the information on renting, including its cost, conditions, the fuel tank size and type of fuel.

What should you pay attention to when signing the agreement?

Before signing the rental agreement, be sure to check the amount as well as the prescribed options and additional services.

What should you pay attention to when signing the agreement?

Upon receiving a car you should check it out. If you find any damage, please inform the pickup point employee about such defects.

Do I have to purchase the full insurance at the rental office or the rental fee is enough to receive a car?

You are not obliged to purchase the full insurance or additional services for receiving your booked car at the rental office. The rental fee will be enough.

Can I change a type of car at the rental office?

Yes, you can. If you want to rent a car of higher or lower class in the car rental office, be sure to specify the rental price. Take into account that it may change.

Do I get a fully-tanked car?

All the cars are rented with full tanks. You have several options to choose:

  • return a car to the office with a full tank,
  • Buy the ‘re-fuelling’ option the cost of which is determined by the country,
  • Extra charges upon return

Attention! Regardless of how much fuel is left in the tank, the full tank price of fuel will be charged.

In Cyprus, you receive a car with a full tank, and the refueling in Cyprus is required. If you return a car with a full tank, the cost of refueling is not paid back.

Car rental

Can I cross the borders of the country where I rent a car?

Yes, but you should specify which countries you would like to visit by rented car.

What to do in case of traffic accident?

In case of traffic accident, you should call the police, report the traffic accident and inform the car rental office.

Is smoking in the car allowed?

Smoking in the most Scantri vehicles is not allowed. In case of violation of this rule a driver can be fined.

What to do in case of car breakdown?

Booking BV offers free 24/7 support and assistance in case of accident or breakage. In order to get assistance, you need to call the telephone number provided in the rental agreement.

If I breach the traffic rules, how can police know about it?

The police requests for personal data from the Booking BV office. A client pays the administration fee to the Economrent company for providing this details.

Who do I learn about violation? How do I get a fine?

Fine shall be sent by the police by mail to the client, and should be paid using one of the options specified in the notification.

Return of rental car

How to return a car outside working hours of the Booking BV rental office?

When returning a car outside rental office working hours, you should check the availability of the Key Box option in this office where you can leave keys at the day of car return. A client shall be liable for the car until the office opening.
